How the weekly league works
By CARGA · Updated
In CARGA's weekly league you're grouped each week with people in your tier, from Bronze to Diamond. Points come from sessions and minutes, not from how much you lift. Finish the week near the top and you move up a tier. From Silver on, finish near the bottom and you drop. Bronze has no drop.
What are the tiers?
There are five: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Everyone starts in Bronze. Diamond is the top tier: there's nowhere higher to go, so the job is holding your place.
Each week you're placed in a new group of people at the same tier.
Where do points come from?
Sessions and minutes. Logged sessions earn points, and so do their minutes, within the daily limit. How much you lift doesn't enter the score, so someone starting out competes on equal terms with someone who lifts heavy.
The session that scores is the one you log in the app. No log, no points.
How do I move up a tier?
By finishing the week near the top of your group. When the week closes, CARGA looks at the standings: whoever is in the promotion zone moves up to the next tier.
What happens if I finish near the bottom?
It depends on the tier. In Bronze nobody drops: it's where everyone starts, and from there the way is up. From Silver on, finish the week near the bottom and you drop to the tier below. Finish in the middle and you stay where you are.
How many sessions count per day?
Your best three sessions each day count, and each session's minutes are capped. Sessions are self-logged for now, so the scoring has that limit on purpose: you can't farm endless points in a single day.
What does the board look like?
Like this. It's a sample board, with the promotion zone at the top and the drop zone at the bottom.
- 1Someone from your gym, Promotion zone
- 2Your training partner, Promotion zone
- 3Your coworker
- 4You
- 5Whoever skipped Tuesday
- 6Your brother-in-law, Drop zone
